The Bankruptcy Certification Program at the National Bankruptcy College is taught by adjunct professor Robert Schaller. Robert is a full-time licensed attorney who has been practicing law for 24 years. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana with a B.S. in Accountancy. Robert also holds a CPA certificate, having passed the Certified Public Accountant exam. Plus, Robert studied for an M.B.A. at the University of Chicago.

Professor Schaller earned a law degree from DePaul Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review. Robert has published numerous articles in legal periodicals and law journals. He has also served as the editor-in-chief or on the editorial board of several legal periodicals.

Professor Schaller began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Nicholas J. Bua, of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Robert then began the private practice of bankruptcy law at the Chicago law firms of Winston & Strawn and later at Chapman and Cutler handling complex bankruptcy litigation.

Schaller is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, and the Will County Bar Association.

Robert now owns his own firm and concentrates his legal practice on bankruptcy law. He has filed more than 1,900 bankruptcy cases representing approximately $250,000,000 in secured, priority, and unsecured debts.
